CHALLENGE
Our long-time customer was building a new home and wanted the features they enjoyed in their previous homes but also wanted to take it up a level with the latest technology. In doing this they sought to maintain the simplicity of operation of the audio/video, and security systems that they were accustomed to.
SOLUTION
We chose the Bose home theater and whole house systems for the audio video distribution throughout the house and outdoor entertainment spaces. We chose a Honeywell / Alarm.com system for the security solution. To take it up a level we added a Hikvision camera system and a Lutron RadioRA2 whole house lighting control system. We also installed an Araknis Network / Wi-Fi system for all these systems to communicate with the internet and each other. To control all of these systems, we installed an in-wall iPad kit in the kitchen.
RESULTS
The Bose System fills the house and outside areas with great sound of the Rolling Stones and gives the whole family ease of operation. The Honeywell / Alarm.com system gives them the peace of mind that their home is protected, plus the convenience of controlling security, lights, thermostats, and door locks remotely. The Hikvision camera system allows the family to view cameras around the house as well as visitors at the distant driveway gate. The Lutron lighting control system gives everyone the ability to turn lighting on or off and dim with the use of lighting scenes such as “Welcome Home”, “Goodbye”, “Good Night”, “Master Suite Off”. Exterior lighting is controlled with the Lutron system’s built-in astronomic time clock. The Araknis Network gives the family great Wi-Fi for wireless devices throughout the house and outside areas as well as providing a great infrastructure for all of the connected systems to communicate. With this combination of solutions, Acadiana Security Plus had transformed the family’s new house into their technological dream home.
